County of Lambton –

Lambton County Library is working with Service Canada to bring vital government services closer to residents in rural areas through a new partnership that will see  Service Canada representatives delivering information and services in select rural libraries.

In January and February 2025, a Citizen Services Specialist from Service Canada will be available at Lambton County Library locations in Alvinston, Corunna, Forest, Thedford, Watford,  and Wyoming. The Specialist will be available to help people with their applications for Service Canada programs and benefits, including Employment Insurance, Social Insurance Numbers,  Personal Access Codes for My Service Canada Accounts, Canada Pension Plan, Old Age Security, Canadian Dental Care Plan, and other Government of Canada programs and services.

“Through this collaboration with Service Canada, we aim to provide enhanced access to essential government services for rural communities in Lambton County,” said Adrianne Lebert,  Public Services Coordinator – Adult Programs and Outreach.

The service is available on a first-come, first-served basis, no pre-registration is required.  Clients will need a valid piece of government-issued ID and a Social Insurance Number (SIN) to access the service.
